The 128th China Import and Export Fair (Canton Fair) is held online from October 15th to 24th. It invites companies from all over the world to participate” 35 cloud” incident. These events are held in more than 30 countries and regions, aiming to provide exhibitors and buyers with an effective trading experience by establishing online business matching models, developing new global partners and encouraging new buyers to register.
In these activities, China Foreign Trade Center introduces 50 exhibition areas at the Canton Fair, display approximately 16 products, show their registration process, and functions on the digital platform of the exhibition, such as instant messaging, purchase requests, and business card management.
Many buyers at the Canton Fair are from the North American market. In the past few years, the business communities of these countries have expanded their cooperation with Chinese companies through the Canton Fair, benefiting all parties.
Darlene Bryant, executive director of the economic development plan Global SF, connects Chinese companies to investment opportunities in the San Francisco Bay Area and participates in almost every Canton Fair, where she discovers the latest industrial development trends in China. She pointed out that the virtual Canton Fair played a unique role in restoring Sino-US bilateral trade relations after the COVID-19 epidemic.
Gustavo Casares, president of the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Ecuador, said that the Chamber of Commerce has organized Ecuadorian buyer groups to participate in the Canton Fair for more than 20 years. The virtual Canton Fair provides an excellent opportunity for Ecuadorian companies to develop business contacts with high-quality Chinese companies without the hassle of traveling. He believes that this innovative model will help local companies actively respond to the current economic situation and achieve their business goals.
The Canton Fair has always been committed to deepening the economic cooperation and exchanges between China and the two countries through the “Belt and Road Initiative” (BRI). As of September 30, the Canton Fair’s cloud promotion activities have been held in 8 BRI countries (such as Poland, the Czech Republic and Lebanon) and attracted nearly 800 attendees, including buyers, business associations, entrepreneurs and the media.
Pavo Farah, deputy director of the International Relations Department of the Federation of Industry and Transport of the Czech Republic, pointed out that the virtual Canton Fair has brought new opportunities for companies to seek economic and trade cooperation during the COVID-19 epidemic. He will continue to support Czech companies and businessmen participating in the Canton Fair as a group.
Cloud promotion activities will continue to be held in Israel, Pakistan, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Egypt, Australia, Tanzania and other countries/regions to attract more BRI buyers to explore trade opportunities through the Canton Fair.
